Braeriach

I’ve made three attempts to climb this Munro. The last one, on 19 May 2010,  was successful.

  • 1: Starting and finishing point at the car park in Whitewell. From that place, a wide dirt track leads to Loch Eanaich. But I wasn’t going there…
  • 2: Crossroads. I went towards Lairig Ghru along a path running mainly through woodlands.
  • 3: The northern end of Lairig Ghru. Here I started climbing Braeriach.
  • 4: The summit of Braeriach (1296m). The summit was covered with snow; the weather changed, and I hardly found the most accurate placement of the highest point. From there, I crossed the snowfield towards the north-west to go down to Glen Eainich. The arduous route across snowfields, rocks and heather.
  • 5: Glen Eainich.
